The family holiday classic, The Nutcracker, returns to the Terrace Theater/Long Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday, December 19 and Sunday, December 20. Presented by the Long Beach Ballet, three performances are scheduled.
Celebrating its 27th Anniversary, the show is produced and choreographed by acclaimed Artistic Director, David Wilcox. This magical full-length show features the talented students of the Long Beach Ballet along with world-famous dancers.
The Long Beach Ballet’s Nutcracker is Southern California’s only production that includes a full symphony orchestra under the baton of Roger Hickman, its trademark "flying sleigh," and exciting pyrotechnics, all set to Tchaikovsky’s traditional music score. Ballerina Melissa Sandvig ("So You Think You Can Dance" Finalist), will be featured as the Dewdrop Fairy in all performances.

The Whiz Comes to Long Beach This November |

The musical The Wiz will be performed at the Center Theater/Long Beach Performing Arts Center on Friday, November 20, and Saturday, November 21, at 7:30pm on both days. A presentation by Long Beach Renaissance High School for the Arts, this special performance features a talented cast of young student actors.
Based on the classic, "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," this updated version tells the tale of Dorothy who gets whisked away from her home in Kansas to the mystical and sometimes nightmarish Land of Oz, but with a modern flair.
Featuring a cast of more than 50 students, this presentation is a collaboration of the theater, dance, and music departments of the Renaissance High School for the Arts. The musical score will be performed by the school’s orchestra and students work on every aspect of the show production including set design, stagecraft, sound, lighting, props, costume design, makeup, program design, and videography.

The exotic rhythms of Vietnamese music and dance return to the Terrace Theater/Long Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday, November 14, at 7PM.A presentation of Asia Entertainment, this production is titled Truc Tiep Thu Hinh-V63 (Asia Music Show Video 63).
Featuring some of the world’s most talented Vietnamese performers, the live concert will be taped for a DVD release.
"We are pleased to welcome back this popular show to the Terrace Theater," said Dan Spellens, Director of Theaters & Entertainment for the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. Whose Live Anyway at Long Beach Terrace Theater -- Cancelled |

The improvised comedy show, Whose Live Anyway? will be at the Terrace Theater/Long Beach Performing Arts Center on Friday, November 6. A presentation of Jam Theatricals, show time is 8PM.
Whose Live Anyway? features the stars from the popular television show,"Whose Line Is It Anyway?" live on stage. The cast includes actor/comedian Ryan Stiles, stand-up comic Greg Proops, and impromptu comedy singers Chip Esten and Jeff Davis. The team works off-the-cuff to create a night of hilarious improvised comedy and song.
Audience members play key roles during the show and are therefore encouraged to bring suggestions for a chance to be asked to join the cast on stage.
"This talented cast entertains and amazes audiences with their witty scenes that are created right before their eyes," said Dan Spellens, Director of Theaters & Entertainment for the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. The Unity Tour to Stop in Long Beach |

The Unity Tour will make a stop at the Terrace Theater/Long Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday, October 24, at 7PM. Presented by Hacienda Isabella Group, the show features seven of the finest performers that have made their mark in the Philippine music industry.
The line-up includes legendary artist Kuh Ledesma, better known as "Pop Diva," Asia’s Pop Idol Christian Bautista, singer/comedienne Nanette Inventor, actor Jograd Dela Torre, veteran stage actor and singer Carlo Orosa, up and coming singer Isabella Gonzales, and the young balladeer from Britain’s Got Talent, Charlie Green. Line-up is subject to change without notice.
The show is an evening of musical celebration, laughter, and camaraderie. Repertoire of songs will range from original Filipino music to upbeat and energetic, to love and inspirational themes.
